Our Ailsa Craig Neighbourhood is designed for those seeking an active, fulfilling life without worrying about household chores. Our most spacious suites are available here, offering the best of Village life and independent comfort.
Care and Services
From the smallest to our largest Village, our philosophy is centred around strong relationships, for these are what allow the heart of great care and service to flourish.
Each Village is separated into various neighbourhoods and we strive to have the same dedicated team members working in each one. When the same engaged people work together in support of residents, they foster authentic relationships and a deeper, intuitive understanding of the needs of each person we serve. When the full Village concept is realized, an entire continuum of care is available that offers space for all, regardless of the complexity of care needs or the level of independence.
Our Becker Neighbourhood is available for those seeking a little extra support in order to maintain their highest level of independence, with linen laundry, housekeeping, two meals per day and nursing services available.
Our Williamsburg Neighbourhood offers an all-inclusive rate, with all meals, medication administration, 24-hour access to nursing service and assistance with bath or shower once per week in a studio or one-bedroom suite.
Our Egerton Neighbourhood offers more support for residents in need of more assistance, with three meals per day, medication administration, 24-hour access to nursing and a team dedicated to a higher level of service.
Our Emma's Neighbourhood offers a higher level of support designed for residents living with dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. Our dedicated team at the Village is well-trained through our LIVING In My Today philosophy.
Our Long-term Care (LTC) neighbourhoods provide high-quality care, specialized to meet the needs of all residents with complex care needs. Admission to LTC is managed by Home and Community Care Support Services.
Our Villages have a dining room for each of our Neighbourhoods, comfortable and spacious offering healthy, delicious meals prepared by qualified chefs and served by our courteous team of servers and care partners. We know how important the mealtime experience is, and we always strive for the best to make every meal an enjoyable one.
Many people choose to explore Village Life because home maintenance becomes too much as age or various health challenges arise. Whether it’s making the beds, cleaning the house or maintaining the yard, many people simply no longer have the desire to do so or they’re physically unable to. At Schlegel Villages, we take care of everything.
Our housekeeping and maintenance team keep the common areas and resident suites clean and tidy. Our laundry team looks after linen service, as well as personal laundry as requested by residents. Many residents choose to use the neighbourhood laundromat on Main Street for personal laundry, while select retirement apartments in our full continuum of care Villages include an in-suite washer and dryer.
There is nothing more satisfying than the spontaneous activities that emerge organically in the neighbourhoods and along Main Street. Beyond that, a full-time recreation team and volunteers develop programming tailored to the interests of residents, providing opportunities to interact and enjoy each other's company on days, evenings and weekends. These teams are proud to bring a range of entertainment to life along Main Street at various times throughout the month.
Residents of our retirement Villages also have a bus available for regular group outings, including shopping, lunches, theatre, and special trips.
At Schlegel Villages, we invest in programs that make a real difference in the lives of our residents and older adults well beyond our Village walls. Within these three organization-wide programs, our steady quest to improve life quality moves forward and we see the impact every day.
We have a long-standing reputation for delivering quality care in our Villages. We believe in care practices that address the clinical needs of our residents, but also touches them at a personal level to nurture their spirit.
